1. I've heard that varicose veins are just a cosmetic problem. Is this true? |

Less than 20% of the procedures performed for varicose veins at the Midwest Vein Centers are done for purely cosmetic reasons. Varicose veins can cause pain, swelling, phlebitis and sometimes hemorrhage. Since 2002, we have treated dozens of patients whose severe venous ulcerations have been present or recurrent for several years, and many of them have experienced healing within a few weeks. To date, none of them have recurred.
